WDP is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679. The following statement outlines how we will treat your personal information and general experience on this website.

Any personal information submitted on this website via any referral or feedback forms is treated in strict confidence and solely for the purpose it is intended for. We will take reasonable precautions to prevent loss or misuse of your data.

Why we collect information about you

At WDP we aim to provide you with the highest quality care. To do this we must keep records about you, your health, and the care we have provided or plan to provide to you. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act we are the Data Controller of your information. The following details should enable you to make informed decisions about the use of your information.

How do we receive information about you?

We receive your Personal Information from various sources:
  • When you voluntarily provide us your personal details in order to register on our Site;
  • When you use or access our Site in connection with your use of our services;

How is my information used?

The information that we collect and store relating to you is primarily used to enable us to provide our services to you. All staff involved in your care will be bound by the Common Law Duty of Confidentiality as well as WDP policy and procedures which comply with professional guidance, best practice and the law. 

We will not share your personal data with any third parties without your prior consent except where required to do so by law. We may pass your personal data to third parties who are service providers, agents and subcontractors to us for the purposes of completing tasks and providing services to you on our behalf. However, we disclose only the personal data that is necessary for the third party to deliver the service and we have a contract in place for which requires them to keep your information secure and not to use it for their own purposes. 

WDP may also use your information to:
  • Carry out clinical audits to monitor and improve the quality of care and treatment provided, investigate complaints, legal claims or incidents
  • Manage and plan services, make improvements, public health purposes - your information is anonymised when used for this purpose
  • You may be asked if you would be willing to take part in an approved research project but you do not have to agree if you do not want to

How we protect your information

We will not transfer your personal data outside the EEA without your consent.

We have implemented generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect personal data from loss, misuse, or unauthorised alteration or destruction. We will notify you promptly in the event of any breach of your personal data which might expose you to serious risk.

Access and corrections

If we decide that we are not entitled to do so, we will stop processing your personal data and will retain your personal information in an archived format as directed by our organisational Records Management and Retention Policy.

We want to ensure that your personal information is accurate and up-to-date. You may ask us to correct or remove information you think is inaccurate.

One way to do this is to download and fill out our Subject Access Request Form, which asks for all the information we would need to process your request.

Where your information relates to a general enquiry about WDP services, information will be removed from our systems after a period of six months.
